Donnie Fritts Donnie lives in Florence, Alabama. He got into the entertainment business as a drummer at the age of 15. He took up the keyboard and soon was working closely with Rick Hall, Billy Sherill, Dan Penn, and Arthur Alexander at several of the local recording studios. In 1965 Donnie was signed to a Nashville publishing company and had songs recorded by Charlie Rich and Jerry Lee Lewis. This is where he met Kirs Kristofferson who also was just beginning his song-writing career. When Kristofferson started his band Donnie became involved and the two have remained co-workers and friends over the years. Performing live, on records and in numerous movies together. Donnie has appeared in several movies along with Kristofferson, PAT GARRETT & BILLY THE KID, BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA, CONVOY as well as many others including A STAR IS BORN and SONGWRITER. Some of the songs written by Donnie include “We Had It All”, “You’re Gonna Love Yourself In The Morning”, “Breakfast In Bed”, and “Choo Choo Train”.
